Downtown Berkeley Association and the Jazzschool Present Jazz School Rising Stars – Summer Noon Concerts for 2010 at Bartlett’s Patio Next to the Berkeley Public Library located at 2020 Kittredge Street, Berkeley, CA 94704 (2 blocks from the Downtown Berkeley BART station)

August 5 – Zach Partridge Trio
Drummer Zach Partridge leads a trio through a compelling set of originals and standards. Featuring Tony Owen, guitar; Tommy O Mahoney, bass; and Zachary Partridge, drums.

August 12 – Opaque
Made up of Oberlin Conservatory students originally from the Bay Area, Opaque takes on standards and originals with a hard-swinging verve. Featuring Ian McArdle, piano; Chase Jackson, vibes; Baron Arnold, trombone; Brandon Gaorian, bass; and Shawn Myers, drums.

August 19 – Isaac Schwartz/Arian Shafiee
Drummer Isaac Schwartz and guitarist Arian Shafiee explore the unknown with fearless improvisation.

August 26 – Erika Oba
Jazz pianist, flutist, arranger, composer and music teacher Erika Oba graduated with a BM in Jazz Piano Performance from Oberlin Conservatory in spring 2009. Featuring Erika Oba on piano; Rafa Postel on trumpet; and Benny Amon on drums; bass TBA.
