CANCELED: “Nightlife on Mars” Comedy Night | SF
Nightlife on Mars is a weekly comedy show at Murphy’s Pub, produced by local comics Joe Nguyen, Red Scott, and Natasha Muse.
The three members of Nightlife on Mars are the triptych that represents the spiritual base of the San Francisco comedy scene. Between them, they’ve performed with comic talents ranging from Robin Williams to Wyatt Cenac, and have been featured by the SF Weekly, The Daily Mail, and KALW.

Mary Van Note – Mary Van Note is a stand-up comedienne of the weird variety. She performs at colleges, clubs and festivals across the country and she is the creator and star of the award winning Independent Film Channel web series The Mary Van Note Show: Gavin Really Wants Me. The San Francisco Bay Guardian called her a “Zine-Queen Comedian” as she regularly makes zines, crafts and mini-comics. Her specialties are stick-figures and cross-stitch.
Johan Miranda – Johan Miranda is a Peruvian American comedian that has established himself in the Bay Area comedy scene. San Francisco Magazine exemplified him as a comedian you should know you about. He performs at all the major comedy clubs in Northern California, including San Francisco Punchline, Sacramento Punchline, Cobbs Comedy Club, Rooster T Feathers, & San Jose Improv, and has been featured in SF Sketchfest & Santa Cruz Fringe Festival. He currently produces & hosts the popular bimonthly Laugh Function, Berkeley’s longest running comedy showcase. He recently recorded a mini comedy DVD taping entitled “Ready to Bomb,” which award winning Bay Area comedy blog Courting Comedy called “a capsule of undeniable promise”
Les Milton – Les Milton has appeared in SF Sketchfest with White Noise Radio Theater. Now on his own, he performs his audio enhanced solo sketches and writes tragi-comic sci-fi novels for the whole family.
Michael Capozzola – Michael is a San Francisco-based comedian and cartoonist. He’s contributed to Mad Magazine, The New York Times and National Lampoon. Each year, Michael produces and hosts the Cartoon Art Museum’s annual “Comics for Comix” comedy fundraiser which he conceived as well. Born and raised in New Rochelle, NY Michael subsisted on comic books and chocolate until he took up comedy and caffeine. He created his own comedy studies major while at Ithaca College.
Patrick Manahan – Patrick Manahan is a Los Angeles native who started comedy after moving to the Bay Area. With a comedic voice that is both whimsical and sardonic, Patrick provides his commentary on the silly and absurd in life, often times venturing into silly and absurd territory himself. He performs in clubs in the Bay Area and Los Angeles. Go ahead, ask him about his robot leg.
Morgan – Morgan is an unapologetic, transgendered transplant originally from New Jersey. Morgan’s story and act have made her a famous at clubs, private events and everything in between.
