Noise Pop 2020 Music & Art Festival | SF

The Noise Pop Festival is San Francisco’s (and Funcheap’s) favorite indie music and art festival.

Now in its 28th year, Noise Pop has brought early exposure to many emerging artists in the Bay Area and beyond, many of whom have gone on to widespread acclaim like Raphael Saadiq, Benjamin Gibbard, Maya Jane Coles, Best Coast, Duster, Washed Out and Helado Negro.

Over the course of a week, from Monday, February 24 to Sunday, March 1, 2020 transforms the Bay Area into a festival ground with multiple events taking place across the city each night.

Free Events

While most events are ticketed, there are a few free events including Happy Hour concerts at Bender’s Bar (Feb 25-29), a Photo Retrospective at Hotel Biron (Feb 24) and two late night after-hours secret concerts at Cafe du Nord (Feb 28-29).

Come to Noise Pop Happy Hour at Bender’s Bar for some free live music from 5-8 pm on Thursday, February 27, 2014.

Featured acts include:

Dude York – Built on a mountain of guitars and reinforced by an instrumental palette expanded to include samples, horns, fake E Street Band piano and a wellspring of nervous energy, this is heavy pop for heavy times.

A Million Billion Dying Suns – AMBDS is the project and child of Nate Mercereau, guitarist, singer and principal songwriter. Formed in San Francisco, the band is a transcendental wall of sound that lives up to it’s own name. Band members include Steve Wyreman (guitar), Josh Lippi (bass), Derek Taylor (drums) and Ben Schwier (keys).

A-1 & Rawdad – Adam Traore, aka A-1, might be the next S.F. rapper poised for wider success. The first-generation U.S. citizen, son of parents from West Africa and Italy, A-1 treads a fine line between what would’ve once been considered conscious rap — giving lip-service to positivity and self-awareness — with party-ready anthems about girls and weed.
