San Francisco’s tradition of diverse cultural expression started at the Presidio, and continues today with events that enlighten, engage, and entertain, taking place at the Presidio Officers’ Club.
Enjoy topical discussions, live music, dance, and interactive family activities, all free to the public and sponsored by the Presidio Trust, in partnership with cultural institutions from across the Bay Area.
Steeped in jazz, The Nice Guy Trio embraces a wide array of styles, drawing from klezmer, blues, funk, calypso, country, Balkan, and Hindustani music. The protean combo effortlessly incorporates some of the finest improvisers on the multifarious San Francisco scene, creating playfully virtuosic music that references genres while existing outside of any particular style or tradition. The trio’s genre-defying compositions offer forays into the sounds of the world.
Founded in 2008 by trumpeter Darren Johnston, The Nice Guy Trio features accordion ace Rob Reich and bassist Daniel Fabricant, exploring a heady mix of original compositions and the modern jazz classics of Charles Mingus and Ornette Coleman.
