Event Details

This all-day San Francisco Diasporic Vietnamese Film Festival at San Francsico State is the first Bay Area film festival to focus exclusively on Vietnamese films and performers, with the hope of creating a deeper awareness and respect for the many Vietnamese communities worldwide.

The festival features thirteen films from nine diverse directors in the U.S., Australia, Germany, England, and Vietnam—in narrative, documentary, and experimental genres centering on the filmed histories, communities, identities, and imaginaries of those in Vietnam and in the diaspora—a transnational vision reflecting a transnational reality.

The festivities begin at 10:30 a.m. and conclude at 9:30 p.m and are free but donations are appreciated to cover screening fees. Festival attendees may view the complete schedule of films
