Chamber Music Concert: Viaggio Italiano | Oakland

The Left Coast Chamber Ensemble’s Viaggio Italiano takes listeners on a musical voyage with chamber music informed by Italian perspectives.

The ensemble will premiere a quintet for guitar and strings by Italian-born composer Luciano Chessa. His new work is a musical reflection on the Peralta House, a Bay Area historical landmark. In addition, LCCE performs the Fandango Quintet of Luigi Boccherini, an 18th-century piece with cross-cultural implications by the Italian composer who spent many years as an expatriate in Madrid after moving there in 1761.
