Puccini’s legendary opera comes to life in a free screening from the Merola Opera Program and SF Public Library.

An arranged marriage between an American naval officer and a Japanese teenager leads to passion and tragedy in one of the world’s most popular operas. Mirella Freni and Plácido Domingo headline a powerful cast in this stunning 1975 Wiener Staatsopernchor’s production. Performed in Italian with English subtitles.

Admission is free. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors for seating open at 12:30 pm.
