Looking to get a job in the games industry or currently apart of it but looking for the next thing? Come join them in their mini-series event on gaining insight from players in the game industry, learning their story breaking into the industry or new vertical.

Dogpatch DevBlend wants you to level up. They’ll have three speakers this upcoming Wednesday speaking about their experiences in the gaming industry and bringing additional insight into how they got to where they are. They will also have some light sandwich styled snacks, chips, dip and veggies to munch on and beer, wine and soda to wash it down.

Speakers:

Mitch Zamara

Mitch has been in the industry for over 9 years. He’s worked at companies like Zynga, Storm8, FunPlus, and NetEase, and lead the design on 9 successful mobile games. He’s now made the move to freelance, heading up his independent studio Habitual Games, where he does consulting, and develops mobile games for kids.
In this talk, he’ll share insights and learning’s that have helped him succeed as a freelancer, and how you can use a similar approach to do the same.

Seth Rosen

Seth is a game designer for Hanger13, and prior to that has worked with Klei Entertainment and Irrational Games. His talk, “C-Words: Communication, Clarity and Conventions” will go over communication and naming in game development.

Ben Ahroni

Ben Ahroni is the Executive Producer at FunPlus. Prior to his current role he was the game systems designer for Lumosity, a producer at PopCap, and an engineer at Microsoft Game Studios. He created the iOS app SideCast and consults with companies about the science behind engaging products. At this event he’ll be discussing what the scientists who study human motivation know about designing engaging games.
