Event Details

2016 marks the 50th anniversary of the San Francisco Psychedelic Poster Art Movement. Join them for a panel discussion about the history of this movement and a live demonstration of poster screenprinting.

Panel Discussion 12:30-1:30 PM
Join moderator Nicholas Meriwether for a conversation between some of the most prominent poster artist in San Francisco, including Stanley Mouse, Winston Smith, Chris Shaw, and Chuck Sperry.

Screenprinting Demonstration 2-4 PM
Artist Chris Shaw will be demonstrating the art of poster screenprinting. Pick up a poster promoting The Mix at SFPL, the Main’s brand new state-of-the-art digital teen center (while supplies last).

Musical Performance 2:30-3:30
A live musical performance, showcasing students from the Blue Bear School of Music songwriting program, as well as rappers and producers from Blue Bear’s digital audio program at The Mix and the Bayview YMCA. One of Blue Bear’s success stories, student-turned-instructor, Lynell Peterson will be performing original work.
