Event Details

Rev. Traci Blackmon will share her experience working in Ferguson, MO, in the wake of the tragic killing of Michael Brown, Jr. Her topic, “Healing Communities on the Frontlines of Ferguson: Health Professionals as Activists,” will provide a framework for grassroots social change. Her signature initiatives have included Healthy Mind, Body, and Spirit, a mobile faith-based outreach program she designed to impact health outcomes in impoverished areas. Rev. Blackmon’s communal leadership and work in the aftermath of Brown’s killing gained her both national and international recognition and audiences from the White House to the Carter Center to the Vatican.

The free event will include a singing performance by The Allen Temple Women’s Chorus.
