Event Details

The Niles Essanay Silent Film Museum normally shows… well… silent movies and that’s what makes today’s special Sundayscreening so unique.

For $5 you can have two hours of old-timey film fun and watch a Laurel and Hardy “talkie” matinee “Men O’ War” along with Our Gang (aka The Little Rascals) shorts Love Business (1930) and Hearts Are Trumps (1937) along with the Stan & Ollie short Me & My Pal (1933)

Film starts at 4pm, but arrive early as the International Laurel & Hardy vintage comedy film appreciation society, will once again be meeting at the Edison Theater at 3:00 pm prior to the films. The public is welcome to attend their friendly, informal and very informative meeting.

Feature:

  • Men O’ War (1929) Laurel and Hardy
Sailors Laurel and Hardy meet two girls at a lakeside park and try to treat them to a soda and disastrous boat ride.

Shorts:

  • Love Business (1930) Our Gang
Miss Crabtree comes to live at Jackie Cooper’s house, which gives him an opportunity to propose. Chubby Chaney cuts in on the action.

Ollie is about to get married when Stan gives him a jigsaw puzzle as a present.
  • Hearts Are Thumps (1937) Our Gang,
