MGMT Secret Scavenger Hunt | SF

MGMT is putting on a fun-sounding scavenger hunt across San Francisco starting at 4pm on St. Patrick’s Day called “Where is MGMT?” We’re not 100% positive but we believe you’ll win a chauffeur-driven ride around SF while getting a private listening party to the new CD and some food, and schwag. But if you’ve got time to spare and really dig MGMT it might be worth a try.

For those of you who are late, you’ll probably only see “MGMT Was Here” written in on the sidewalk and be given a button as a consolation prize

According to MGMT website:

You have won a chance to be part of an extraordinary MGMT event. The MGMTmobile will be visiting 6 cities, and we are challenging YOU to come find it

Where is MGMT will reveal clues to the location 1 hour prior to arrival. The first 6 people to this location will be part of a very special MGMT experience. Be sure to stay tuned as they reveal San Francisco’s special location tomorrow at 4:00pm sharp!

HOW IT WORKS:

• –Where is MGMT will give clues to the secret location and a password that you’ll have to reveal once meeting the “man with the MGMT flag.”
• -Once you figure out where the location is – GO THERE – you have 1 hour, and it’s first come first serve.
• -You will see a person holding an MGMT flag – go up to them and tell them the password.
• -If you are one of the first people to arrive – your journey starts then. You will need to be free for the next 2 hours.

What happens next?
You will have to wait and see……

What to expect: According to Kirkerblog here’s what happened in Austin for “Where is MGMT”

After signing agreements basically saying we were forbidden to make any sort of recording of the album, we were off on an hour-long drive around various areas of South Austin in a fairly swanky chauffeur-driven van…. So anyway, after driving around — witnessing both an arrest and a collision in the process — the lovely ladies from the label treated us all to some Torchy’s Tacos, and then we headed back to the pick-up spot on South Congress. Everyone got complimentary t-shirts and lyric books. In all, a fantastic kickoff to SXSW!
