Event Details

Come and join an advanced screening of American Creed with special guest historian David Kennedy and the filmmakers, plus free resources for teachers.

Are there ideals Americans share in common? How can educators help students explore and discuss the differences that divide us? Stanford professors Condoleezza Rice and David Kennedy teamed up across party lines to ask these questions in the new film American Creed. The one-hour documentary features stories of unlikely activists including baseball manager Joe Maddon, novelist Junot Diaz and others who come together to build community around the values that unite humanity.

KQED is hosting an advanced screening of American Creed for educators on from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22, at KQED. If you work with young people in a classroom, after-school program or at a community organization, join them to view the film, meet David Kennedy and the filmmakers, and learn about how to spur conversation, writing and mediamaking with your students based on the themes in American Creed. Of course, there will be food, drink, special giveaways, and time to connect with other educators. Free but an RSVP is required.
