Event Details

Join us for an evening focused on Asian Men’s Mental Health, exploring the impact of cultural stigma, masculinity, and childhood experiences.
This will build on the previous event to discuss how dinner table experiences and dynamics during childhood years influenced Asian men’s mental health. It will begin with a discussion moderated by Michael Ly with panelists Leo Xia, an Asian men’s wellness coach and facilitator, and Jackson Xia, a dance and movement facilitator, discussing what they’ve experienced working in this space.
Two years ago, Leo and the Asian Mental Health Project collaborated to launch Proud Asian Men, a free biweekly support group designed to create a safe space for Asian men to connect, reflect, and heal. Asian Mental Health Project is a nonprofit organization committed to educating and empowering Asian communities to seek mental healthcare. Since its inception, the group has grown into a thriving community, expanding into in-person experiences and programming.
Audience questions, gathered before the panel begins, will guide parts of the discussion, and there will also be opportunities for live Q&A throughout the event.
Following the talk, Asian men are invited to participate in a small group session facilitated by Leo Xia.
Don’t miss the first Proud Asian Men daylong retreat the next day on 6/8 in the Bay Area, with group discussion, movement, and breathwork.
