Events at Omnivore Books On Food

Omnivore Books on Food is a teeny Noe Valley bookstore, their shelves packed floor to ceiling with hundreds of new, antiquarian, and collectible titles, on all manner of food and cooking.

The store hosts frequent events including book signings, chef talks, author readings, cooking contests, and food and drink tastings.

From authentic Korean kimchi, Indian chutney, and Japanese tsukemono to innovative combinations ranging from mild to delightfully spicy, the time-honored traditions of Asian pickling are made simple and accessible in this DIY guide.

Meet Karen Solomon, author of Asian Pickles: Sweet, Sour, Salty, Cured, and Fermented Preserves from Korea, Japan, China, India, and Beyond.

We’ve been told that she may be doing a short demo, and might even bring some pickles to taste, but details are not yet set. You can call Omnivore Books at 415-282-4712 for more information.
