Free / RSVP

Join us on Friday, April 12, at 5:30 pm at Mission High School’s Little Theater for a discussion about the troubling history of incarcerating Japanese American children in the United States.

Your Call is producing a series of events exploring the connections between Japanese American incarceration during WWII and modern threats to civil liberties. We’re calling it “HEAR: Histories of Exclusion And Resistance.”

At our next live show, host Rose Aguilar will speak to Oakland writer Chizu Omori, who at 12 was incarcerated in a WWII camp. Mission High students will also share their experiences with exclusionary policies.

This live event is part of a yearlong project funded by the California State Library’s California Civil Liberties Public Education Program.
