Avoid SF Parking Tickets w/ Help from Brand New App
Thanks to the San Francisco Standard for sharing the news about a brand new app to help prevent parking tickets.
A local San Francisco couple, Pablo Felgueres and MaryLouise Howell, was sick of getting parking tickets for forgetting to move their car for street cleaning. So, over a weekend, they got to work building an app to help drivers avoid these parking citations.
The Street Cleaning App is basic for now, and only in beta testing (sign up to be a beta tester on iOS), but users let the app know where they parked and the app will prompt reminders 45 minutes and 10 minutes before street cleaning begins on the street you parked. There is no functionality for meters or loading zones.
The duo plans to keep a free tier, but they’ll also launch a paid tier costing $3-5 per month with additional features such as Google calendar integration and custom time notifications.
The team hopes to expand to additional cities as well in the future.
