Thanks to Jazz Mafia for letting us know about the Music Relief Project.

Motherwolf and Jazz Mafia are coming together with supporting partners to bring financial relief to musicians in the SF Bay Area who need it most and share music that brings emotional relief to the world.

A new digital music label created by artists for artists, to announce The #MusicRelief Project, a relief fund to support San Francisco-Bay Area musicians who are losing income amid the COVID-19 pandemic, rewarding grants to musicians who are struggling to pay rent and living costs. The first round of The Music Relief Project starts April 2nd and ends April 30th.

How Bands/Musicians Can Apply for a $500 Grant

Here’s how it works: Go to https://www.themusicreliefproject.com/

  1. Bay Area musicians write an original song that’s centered around bringing musical relief to the community.
  2. They share the song in a video post on Instagram, tagging #musicrelief, @motherwolfofficial and @jazzmafiaofficial.
  3. The song will be enjoyed by music fans, and judged by reps from Motherwolf and Jazz Mafia based on the entry’s engagement, the power of its message, its musicality, originality, and other criteria.
  4. In the first round of funding, the top 60 finalists will be awarded a $500 grant.

Entries can be submitted through April 30th. Additional rounds of grants will be available as more donors contribute to The Music Relief Project.
