California Ends 10pm Curfew, But SF Keeps It

No more statewide curfew effective immediately, but San Francisco keeps 10pm curfew for non-essential activities for time being

In big news this morning, Monday, January 25, California has announced that its lifting the regional Stay at Home Order for all regions across the state. Along with this news, California has also ended its 10 pm curfew.

UPDATE: According to Eater SF, San Francisco will keep the 10pm curfew for the time being – In a press conference on January 25th, Director of Health Dr. Colfax confirmed that San Francisco will keep the 10pm curfew for no-essential activities for the time being and until San Francisco enters the state’s red (“substantial risk”) tier.

The curfew was originally implemented on November 21, 2020 and was set to expire on December 21st, but had been extended indefinitely until today.

California announced, “The Limited Stay at Home Order, which limits non-essential activities between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., expires with the Regional Stay At Home Order ending.”
