Meet The 17-Mile “San Francisco Crosstown Trail”

Discover SF’s hidden trails, tiled stairways, community gardens and amazing views

San Francisco’s Crosstown Trail connects parks, open spaces, and intimate neighborhoods in a 17-mile excursion across the city.  The trail runs from Candlestick Point to Lands End, is usable by both pedestrians and bicyclists, and connected to other trails and public transit.

Connecting San Francisco from the southeast to the northwest, the Crosstown Trail (launched in 2019) runs through hidden trails, public parks, shopping corridors, tiled stairways, and community gardens along the way.

The trail is the work of a small group of local volunteers who believe in building community and healthy adventuring outdoors.

You can walk it, run it, or bike it (in either direction!). You can do the whole thing in one day or just try a section. Get some fresh air, explore this beautiful city, and be sure to tell us about your adventure at #sfcrosstowntrail.

2nd Anniversary “Crosstown Trail” Events

June 5-6, 2021

Plan Your Trip | Saturday June 5th Events | Sunday June 6th Events

Woodland trails. Ocean views. Neighborhood greenways. San Francisco’s Crosstown Trail connects all of these delights — and more — in a 17-mile excursion across the city. On June 5 and 6, you can explore the Trail — all of it, parts of it, on your own or with a group — as part of our second anniversary.

We’re holding our celebration in conjunction with National Trails Day, held this year on Saturday, June 5 — a time to support hometown trails and rally for equitable access to the outdoors.
