Thanks to Broke-Ass Stuart for sharing the news that beloved Specs’ Bar in North Beach will be reopening on May 20, 2021.

The 53-year-old bar at 12 William Saroyan Place, tucked away on an alley just off of Columbus Ave (across from City Lights), had been open periodically for to-go drinks and as a bottle shop during parts of the pandemic.

When they reopen, they’ll be offering offering limited indoor and outdoor parklet service. Their temporary hours are Thursday to Sunday, from 4-10 pm.

In the meantime, you can donate to Specs’ GoFundMe which has so far raised $51,125. You can also purchase a gift card which you can use once they reopen.
