The San Francisco Parks Alliance kicked off their new “Heart Your Parks” gratitude campaign today for the month of September, which includes “heart-shaped social distanced circles” going in at Parks throughout the city.

The first parks to get “hearts” include Alamo Square, Conservatory of Flowers Lawn, Glen Canyon Field, and (hopefully) more to come. UPDATE – Dolores Park, McLaren Park  and India Basin Shoreline Park were also added on Thursday.

List of Participating “Hearts” Parks

  • Alamo Square
  • Dolores Park
  • Conservatory of Flowers Lawn
  • Glen Canyon Park Field
  • McLaren Park
  • India Basin Shoreline Park

The Hearts are roughly the same size as the circles (approximately 10-feet in diameter and spaced 8 feet apart) that began being installed in San Francisco parks just before Memorial Day.

The Parks Alliance is also running a social campaign asking people to share why they “#HeartYourParks” along with a small donation collection, which includes a limited edition HYP bandana designed by local artist Orlie.

Funds raised will ensure SF Parks Alliance can support over 200 community projects, renovate the highest need parks and playgrounds, and create safe public spaces where they are needed most.

Donations made during September will be matched up to $50,000 by the Party for the Parks Event Committee and the SF Parks Alliance Board of Directors. Donations can be made here.
