Whimsical Apocalyptic Roller Skater Rolls Through SF

Hazy skies, empty streets, and a groovy roller skater who turns SF into her playground

San Francisco filmmaker Kyle Hanson McKee seized the opportunity when the skies turned hazy to make a unique short video, The New ‘Normal’, featuring roller skater Toya Willock. The film was shot on the eerily empty streets in downtown San Francisco.

An uncanny roller skater explores apocalyptic San Francisco mid-wildfire season, in the middle of a global pandemic.

Shot in early September when San Francisco was consumed with smoke from surrounding fires, the haze-filled alleys and empty streets transform the city into an eerie playground for the roller skater to roam.
