Event Details

“East Oakland Counter Narratives”, (80 minutes) is a place-based homage to Black families rooted in East Oakland since the 1950s. This new film is a compilation of videotaped oral histories. Eighteen interviewees revealed memories of earlier times, post WWII of life in Deep East Oakland.

Director, Cheryl Fabio, along with members of the East Oakland Community featured in the film, will stay for a panel discussion after the film.

Panelists will include: Antoinette Broussard Farmer, Carla Cravanas,John Jones III, Howard Oliver
