This waterfront market, run by the Center for Urban Education about Sustainable Agriculture (CUESA), has over 100 food, fruit, and vegetable vendors on Saturdays and the entire Bay as its beautiful backdrop.

The Ferry Plaza Farmers Market operates year-round from 8 am to 2 pm.

On most Saturdays, free cooking demos take place in the CUESA Classroom (under the white tents in front of the Ferry Building) and are free to the public, with recipes and samples for all.

Founded by former 4505 Meats staff passionate about making sustainable meats easily accessible to the public, Rookies is a concept of Giovanni and Stefanie Betteo of Salt Pt. Butchery & Provisions, with a focus on classic Italian-American-inspired sandwiches and seasonal dishes. Their meat share program offers local and sustainably raised meats in a CSA-like fashion on a bi-weekly and non-committal basis. Rookies operates under a zero-waste philosophy in which they occasionally use uncommon cuts of meat. However, recipes and cooking tips are always included for those cuts new to your repertoire. All meats are sourced from farmers and ranchers implementing sustainable animal husbandry practices from Pescadero, Capay Valley, and the North Coast, including Devil’s Gulch Ranch.

Devil’s Gulch Ranch is a diversified family farm in Marin County. In 1971, Mark acquired a few acres of land in Nicasio that had previously been used for dairy cattle and started raising horses and pigs. Today, Mark and his wife, Myriam, who is also a veterinarian, raise pastured pork, grass-fed lamb, and rabbit, in addition to growing wine grapes and asparagus.

All demos take place in the CUESA Classroom (under the white tents in front of the Ferry Building) and are free to the public, with recipes and samples for all.
