“What Remains” Free Art Performance | SF

What do we leave behind for future generations? On “Black Friday,” or the day after Thanksgiving, Jen Fedrizzi and Kat Culture will explore this question in a 5-hour performance art piece in the street front window of the Artists Television Access Gallery in the Mission of San Francisco. You are welcome to view the entire performance, or come by to witness for a short bit. The piece is ongoing 3 pm – 8 pm.

The artists will wear handmade costumes composed of the their own plastic trash, as well as found garbage and recyclables.

These trash characters serve as archetypes of the future, and represent an ephemeral, momentary vision from that possible future; one in which the world is dealing with the repercussions of today’s single-use mentality, in other words—our trash.

Are these enigmatic characters mortals, monsters, or mere visions? This 5-hour performance piece will reveal the global waste problems of the now and future using metaphorical movement, as well as spontaneous improvisations of dance, song, and spoken words.
