skater Battle U.S. Freestyle Skating Competition | Golden Gate ParkYou’ve probably heard about Ollies, Kickflips and Manuals from Tony Hawk videogames. But have you seen someone do a Snake Cross, Mabrouk, Nelson or Twin Heel? These inline skating tricks are not for the weak of ankles and they’ll be performed by some of the best in the world at the Battle U.S. Freestyle Skating Competition in Golden Gate Park.

After stops in New York, Seattle and Boston, Battle U.S. is coming to San Francisco in its 4th year but it will keep moving, so it’s not like you can wait till next year to see it. Seeing as this event, in the larger world of North American Slalom Series, is gaining recognition, they’ve made it a little bigger: male and female skaters will run separate battles from now on and they’re a new speed slalom event (for the fleetniks out there).

Competition will be raging on the skating flat on 6th Avenue and John F. Kennedy Drive in Golden Gate Park.
