Add some spice to your Independence Day at the 32nd annual Palo Alto Summer Festival & Chili Cook-off on Thursday, July 4, 2013.

Attracting thousands of sun and chili lovers, the festival embraces everything wonderful about summer.

Taste an array of red-hot chili delicacies prepared by teams of chefs battling for the chili championship.

Live music, dancing, children’s activities, food vendors, and more will take place from 12 to 5 pm.

Chili tasting starts at 1:30 pm.

Can your chili recipe stand the heat of competition? The 2013 Chili Cook-off is the perfect chance to try it out. Awards will be presented for best booth, best spirit and best chili. Call 463-4953 for an entry application (available starting in May).

Admission is free. Tasting kits will be sold for a nominal fee.
