On Friday 3/13 San Francisco announced that all 28 branch libraries and 37 rec and park facilities would be turned into free pop-up child care centers for parents who are healthcare workers, disaster service workers or part of low-income families through at least 3/31.

While most of the K-5 Child Care locations are rec centers and playgrounds throughout the city, the County Fair Building in Golden Gate Park and the iconic Palace of Fine Arts (built in 1915 for the Panama-Pacific Exhibition) will also serve as child care locations.

All rec center and playground locations will open on Monday 3/16 (and rrgistration opens on 3/14), but the County Fair Building and Palace of Fine Arts will start at a later date TBD. Please visit dcyf.org/care for the latest updates.
