More “George Floyd” Protests Planned for Bay Area
To help keep you aware and informed as to what is happening around the Bay, here is a round-up of four upcoming marches and protests planned by activists in response to the death of George Floyd.
Why is Funcheap posting about this? Funcheap wants everyone to be safe so we are simply reporting that these events are scheduled to take place so that you can avoid the area should you wish, or if you join, please wear masks, socially-distance.
Planned George Floyd Protests
- 5/31 at 2pm – Oakland’s “Justice for George Floyd & Breonna Taylor” Car Caravan
- 5/31 at 4pm – “Minneapolis Solidarity Demo” at San Francisco Civic Center*
- 6/1 at 11am – “Kneeling 4 Justice” at SF City Hall in Honor of George Floyd
- 6/1 at 4pm – “George Floyd Solidarity March” in Oakland Led by High School Student
* Please note that while other protests and events specifically call for non-violence, the flyer from the organizers for this event shows fires, says “Fuck the Police” and calls for “Vengeance” so please be aware before attending. Funcheap in no way is supporting any calls for violence – and encourages protesters against injustice to do so in a non-violent fashion. And likewise, Funcheap emplores the police to show restraint and respect towards all non-violent protesters.
