Illegal Fireworks Cause 2.5 Acre Fire in Oakland Hills
Thanks to the East Bay Times for letting us know about the three-alarm brush fire on Sunday in the Oakland hills near 580 that the fire department believes was caused by illegal fireworks.
It took 56 firefighters to put out the 2.5 acre fire. There was no damage to any structures and no injuries.
Police and fire officials note there is a $10,000 fine for illegal fireworks. Reports of illegal fireworks can be reported to the non-emergency number of 510-777-3333 or the tip line 510-238-2373.
