Tuesday, July 6, 2010 - 11:00 am to 6:00 pm | Cost: FREE

The Museum of Craft and Folk Art is proud to present the exhibition Clare Rojas: We They, We They showcasing the first San Francisco solo show of the celebrated local artist who identifies and inserts herself in a folk art continuum. Rojas is best known for paintings on wood panels that challenge the stereotypical representations of the sexes through a naïf homespun aesthetic using flat areas of color that reveal her origins as a print-maker. For the Museum, Rojas debuts new work in the form of a site-specific installation, or “wall-quilt”, investigating the domestic realm through a delicate balance of abstraction and figuration.

Clare Rojas: We They, We They is a collaboration with Ikon Gallery, Birmingham, U.K (www.ikon-gallery.co.uk).

THE FIRST TUESDAY OF EVERY MONTH IS FREE AT MOCFA!
