Redistricting is a once-in-a-decade opportunity to redraw San Francisco’s supervisor districts to create more fair, equitable representation in our local government. Get up to speed at our People Powered Local Redistricting event on Thursday, April 29 at 6:00 pm. The event is open to the public.
During our free, online discussion, you’ll learn about the local redistricting process and how LWVSF plans to amplify public input in how SF’s maps are drawn. You’ll also discover why and how you, your neighbors, and your community can participate in the redistricting process.
You’ll hear from two insightful speakers:
Eric McDonnell was chair of San Francisco’s Redistricting Task Force during the previous 2011 redistricting process. He’ll talk about why it’s important for you and your community to get involved in the redrawing the city’s map of supervisor districts and what it’s like to be a member of the Redistricting Task Force.
Helen Hutchison is the statewide redistricting lead for the League of Women Voters of California and serves on its board of directors. She’ll share why redistricting matters and what you can expect from the 2021 redistricting process.
This event is part of the national League of Women Voters People Powered Day of Action.
