SF’s 95-Foot Neon “The Ladder” Wins Big 2021 Art Award
San Francisco’s dazzling 95-foot tall illuminated ladder, appropriately named “The Ladder,” recently took home a big international design award.
Thanks to SF Gate for sharing the news that Ivan Navarro’s piece won the award for “Best Residential Art.”
CODAawards is an annual celebration of the most exciting Art + Design projects from around the world. Ivan Navarro’s “The Ladder (Sun or Moon)” which debuted last year, was just named a winner of their 2021 awards in the Residential category.
The 95-foot neon and steel “ladder” resembles a functional fire escape on the 12-story facade of 50 Jones fronting Market Street. “The Ladder now represents one of the great visual attractions along Market Street,” notes Dorka Keehn, project public art consultant. The Ladder is located at 1066 Market Street at Jones and is best viewed anytime after dusk.
