3 Bay Area Restaurants Make Top 50 in the World List
This year’s brand new edition of “The World’s 50 Best Restaurants” recently came out and three Bay Area restaurants were named to the prestigious list.
San Francisco’s contemporary Asian fine dining restaurant, helmed by Chef Corey Lee, Benu, ranks at #28. Benu offers a fixed menu for $350 per person. If you’re not feeling that spendy, you can try Chef Corey Lee’s take on a Parisian bistro at his second restaurant, Monsieur Benjamin, for lunch which has main courses starting at $18.
Japanese-influenced SingleThread in Healdsburg earned #37 on the list. Led by Kyle and Katina Connaughton, the restaurant, inspired by ancient Japanese ryokans, serves a 10-course kaiseki-style tasting menu for $375. If you really want to treat yourself, you can book a stay at their inn as well, which includes a gourmet Japanese breakfast with seasonal produce fresh from their farm.
Coming in at #48 is San Francisco’s Atelier Crenn. The French restaurant serves a 14-course tasting menu starting at $395. Chef Dominique Crenn has also earned the Icon Award 2021. for being “a true culinary leader giving a voice to the under-represented.”
