Oakland’s Cemetery Art Party “Make Art with the Dead” for Halloween

Looking for a unique way to celebrate Halloween this year?

Here’s an event you’ll surely enjoy!

Mark your calendars and join us on October 30th, 2021 from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM as Layil Umbralux of Studio Umbralux hosts this creative gathering of art nerds in a spooky location to draw & paint on Samhain Eve. All ages and creative abilities are welcome!

After the successful release of her Momento Mori Art Collection earlier this month, Layil will be hosting Mark Art with the Dead, an event to celebrate this spookiest of seasons the old fashioned way, by hanging out with dead folks.

• WHAT: This is a free, costume-optional gathering for attendees to sketch & paint in the beautiful environment of one of the East Bay’s finest funeral grounds. Offerings for the graves, and formal black attire is encouraged.
• WHERE: happening at the Mountain View Cemetery located at: 5000 Piedmont Avenue Oakland, CA.
• WHEN: Saturday, October 30th, 2021 from 2-6 PM, during public visiting hours.
• HOW MUCH: Entry is free of charge, but donations to the Cemetery are encouraged.
• WHAT TO BRING: Art supplies of your choice: A sketchbook & pens if you’d like to travel light, or a full on plein air painting kit, if you want to get fancy, and everything in between. Just keep the decorum of the venue in mind, and clean up your litter.
