Dive deeper into the Museum of Craft and Design’s exhibitions with hands-on activities throughout the entire museum. From collaborative art-making and toddler tactiles, to interactive storytelling and guest artist instructors–MakeArt Family Day offers creativity for the whole family.
Local green wood crafter Ian McNemar will be demonstrating carving spoons with a knife and axe and turning a bowl on a handmade, foot-powered lathe.
Join in on the experience by safely engraving a wood keychain pendant and learn how local tree species feel, smell, and react to force. Visitors can also design wearable art using polymer clay and create a reflective portrait directly onto a personal mirror.
