“You are strong, brave, and destined to lead. Own it.” – Tammy Duckworth
This annual event will celebrate the resilience and strength of Asian women by acknowledging their unique experiences and challenges. March is Women’s History Month, and it is ‘Our Time’ to celebrate the strength of Asian women around the world.
The idea started last year as we helped coordinate a national day of remembrance for the 6 Asian women victims that were murdered during the Atlanta Spa Shootings in 2020 at the peak of anti-Asian hate. And as we did our research for last year’s event, we realized that there is no event that celebrates Asian women.
So, our org, Asians Are Strong, has taken it upon ourselves and our partners to commit to putting on an annual celebration for our Asian sisters, past and present.
Join us on Sunday, March 12th in the middle of Women’s History Month to celebrate the strength and stories of Asian women, past and present, as we build towards a more powerful future.
Activities to expect:
* 20+ resource groups for Asian women
* Interactive, global art project
* Live podcast recording
* Comedy Show
* Self-defense workshop
* Spoken word poetry
* Musical performances
* Asian women trailblazer panel
* Asian Women’s History Exhibition
and more!
***Plus, an Oscar viewing party with free food, wine, and activities as we cheer for all the API women nominated this year!
Come out and make history with us at our inaugural event.
