San Francisco Service Day on July 12 |
|
July is National Park and Recreation Month! This year’s theme is Build Together, Play Together and what better way to build than with San Francisco Service Day. Organized by the Leadership San Francisco Class of 2025 and supported by the Civic Joy Fund and Union Square Alliance, it takes place Saturday, July 12. Volunteers will support more than 30 local nonprofits through hands-on service projects across the city, including in our parks such as the Oak Woodlands and Strawberry Hill in Golden Gate Park, as well as Duboce Park, the Legion of Honor, and Alemany Farm. The day wraps up with a free block party from 3 to 5 p.m. next to Union Square on Maiden Lane, featuring a DJ, refreshments for volunteers and opportunities to connect with fellow participants and local leaders.
