Bernal Village Marketplace transforms a historic 1924 former Bank of America building (closed in 2017 after 90 years) into a vibrant community marketplace supporting local artists and makers. Tucked inside this quirky repurposed bank building this unique pop-up event, held several times per year on Saturdays at 433 Cortland Ave (now Baukunst), features 10-12 rotating and carefully curated diverse vendors including clothing designers, ceramicists, bakers, dog and cat toy makers, soap and candle makers, jewelers, graphic artists, home decor creators, vintage clothing vendors, antique curators, and even organic pet food chefs.
What makes this special: The majority of vendors are hyperlocal Bernal Heights residents, many living just blocks from the venue to directly support local entrepreneurs who otherwise cant afford the fees at other markets. The marketplace was created specifically to provide affordable opportunities ($40-50 vendor fees vs. $100-500+ elsewhere) for emerging businesses to launch and connect with their immediate community.
The intimate indoor space creates a personal shopping experience where attendees can meet the makers behind the products. Located on the same block as restaurants, bars, and specialty shops, it’s perfect for a full Bernal Heights experience.
Free admission, family- and pet-friendly, and showcasing the authentic creative spirit of one of San Francisco’s most charming neighborhoods. Its a fun and affordable community event that showcases what makes the Bernal Heights neighborhood in San Francisco special. We take a grassroots, community-focused approach and commitment to supporting local artists at genuinely affordable prices so we hope this is exactly the type of event you would love to feature.
