Event Details

Sa Amin: Our Place tells the untold story of Filipinos in San Francisco’s South of Market. Through the voices of activists, artists, and families across generations, the film reveals how we’ve fought for our right to the city against eviction, speculation, and displacement. Featuring never-before-seen archival footage by the late filmmaker Sam Tagatac and interviews with community leaders like Teresa Dulalas, Tina Alejo, and Janine Lacap, this documentary is both memory and movement.

Be part of an evening that uplifts our struggles and our victories. Co-directed by Dyan Ruiz and Nix Guirre, with music by Rachel Lastimosa, Sa Amin reframes the story of San Francisco through the lens of resilience and people power. The screening is hosted by SOMA Pilipinas, SOMCAN, APALA-SF, and BiSHoP.
