Thanksgiving Volunteer for 2025: Bring Joy to Seniors w/ Meal Deliveries (SF)

For 34 years, LBFE has worked to alleviate isolation and loneliness among San Francisco’s aging population by fostering genuine friendships between volunteers and older adults. Through its year-round programs and special holiday events, LBFE creates moments of connection that truly make a difference.

How to Volunteer:
 Individuals, families, and groups are welcome to participate. At least one member of each group must complete a short orientation and pass a background check prior to volunteering.

Join LBFE this Thanksgiving and help ensure no older adult spends the holiday alone.

Volunteers will have the option to deliver meals only or to deliver meals and enjoy a social visit with an older adult who would appreciate companionship. Each visit should last about one hour at the older adult’s home.

Volunteers are asked to pick up meals between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. in San Francisco. The pickup location and additional details will be provided once the volunteer’s background check has been completed.

• What: Volunteer to do in-home friendly visits with a meal delivery OR deliver meals only
• When: Thursday, November 27^th
  • Meal pick-up is between 10:00 a.m – 12:00 p.m.
  • Visits and deliveries are between 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
• Where: Downtown San Francisco
