2026 Chinatown Zodiac Wall Installation— Year of the Horse: A Celebration of Success & Achievement

The beloved Zodiac Wall of San Francisco Chinatown returns for its 11th year, honoring the Year of the Horse with a powerful new theme: Being Successful, Becoming Successful, and Celebrating Achievement.

This annual installation has become an icon of Chinatown—a vibrant, meaningful landmark and one of the city’s must‑visit attractions. Visitors from around the world stop to admire it, take photos, and participate in a tradition rooted in hope, culture, and community.

A Tradition That Grew Into a Community Legacy

• The very first Zodiac Wall began in 2016, created by the Law family as a heartfelt gift to Chinatown.
• Three years ago, this project blossomed into a community‑driven effort, supported by volunteers, families, and neighbors who come together to build something beautiful each year.
• Every year, the wall transforms with a new theme inspired by the zodiac animal, making each installation unique and meaningful.

One of the most cherished traditions of the Zodiac Wall is the red envelope blessing:

• You’ll have the opportunity to write your own good luck message.
• Place it inside a red envelope.
• Add it to the wall as part of the installation.

Writing a message of positivity and intention is believed to bring good fortune, and many visitors return each year to see their wishes displayed among thousands of others. May your hopes for success and achievement in the Year of the Horse come true.
