Something big is happening, and it’s rooted in the Bay Area.
Author Amanda Sung is returning to share that her debut novel How to Break A Girl is officially being adapted into a film set right here in the Bay Area. She’ll be joined by Tiffany Cook (Kindred Curiosity) for a live conversation that goes beyond the announcement, diving into storytelling, identity, and what it means to bring Asian diaspora narratives to the screen.
The book follows three Asian Canadian immigrant women navigating love, career, and intergenerational dynamics, grounded in friendship and cultural discovery. Think emotionally layered, a little messy, and very real.
Expect an honest, thoughtful conversation about the journey from page to screen, creative process, and the stories we don’t always see represented.
