Golden Gate Park “The Whale’s Tail” Beer/Wine Garden + Live Music (Summer 2026)

The Whale’s Tale is a seasonal, open-air destination for live music, food and drinks, community programming and relaxing afternoons. Open Saturdays and Sundays and select holidays beginning Memorial Day weekend, the Whale’s Tail features a rotating lineup of musical acts throughout the season, weekly free yoga in the park and special theme weekends designed for a wide range of park-goers. Admission and entertainment is free. Guests can purchase cold and hot drinks from the bar (with plenty of non-alcoholic options available), and bites from a rotating assortment of local favorite food trucks throughout the season.

The family- and dog-friendly space transforms JFK Promenade’s Golden Mile into a vibrant weekend destination filled with drinks, lawn games, public art, and curated local food trucks. Located just west of the Rose Garden near 14th Avenue East Meadow, the Whale’s Tail is open every Saturday and Sunday afternoon (noon to 6pm) during the summer, plus select holiday Mondays.
