Event Details

Come get down and dirty with Phat Beets Produce for the 10-10-10 International Day of Action for Climate Change. Join us for some serious urban gardening with the Oakland Food Justice Bike Tour as they stop by the garden during their day of action with 350.org, baylocalize, and planting justice.

The bike tour will begin at Planting Justice’s rooftop garden in Temescal and will visit various sites in North Oakland, West Oakland, and South Berkeley, including a worker-owned food coop, community gardens, a greywater project, a greenhouse, a farmers market, a school garden, and others sites that demonstrate local sustainable food projects.

Then hop off your bikes, put on your gloves, and get busy at a work party in West Oakland demonstrating one of Planting Justice core programs: transforming a yard into a beautiful and abundant edible landscape!

Finally, join the 350 event with Bay Localize, CommuniTree, Ella Baker Center, and Oakland Climate Action Coalition at Laney College in the afternoon to kick-off the Clean Energy Tour with an anti-Prop 23 Concert.

Please bring: helmet, water, and gloves, a snack
There will also be fresh local food available during the day’s free events.
