BBC Flashmob Experiment

Participate in a massive twitter flash mob at Crissy Field

On Monday, September 9, 2013, join Bay Area Flash Mob at Crissy Field for a giant flash mob that will be filmed by the BBC for a documentary on citizen journalism and mobile communication to be broadcast on PBS.

They are trying to get as many participants as humanly possible to participate, as part of the impact is the size of the group (hopefully numbering in the thousands). The BBC will give you a podcast or MP3 where you will be given simple instructions on your iPods and smartphones to carry out en masse.

>> Although it’s fun to be a part of a big group, this particular flashmob is unfortunately a bit boring (the person who is reading the instructions sounds like he’s on quaaludes and talks to you as if you’re 2 years old) , and just involves simple, rather boring instructions and taking a photos and hashtagging it on Twitter. it’s unfortunately not nearly as fun as the Improv Everywhere MP3 Flashmobs.

Monday, September 9, 2013 – 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm
Crissy Field | 1199 East Beach, San Francisco, CA
FREE

>> Please note the date and venue change – Event is now Monday, September 9, 2013 at 6 pm at Crissy Field near the Warming Hut.

No choreography is required, but you’ll want to bring your smartphone or MP3 player.

Although the BBC’s flashmob is really simple and (actually sort of boring), here’s a flavor of what you’ll be doing, an MP3 flashmob that was put together by Improv Everywhere.
