Freespace Pop-Up Community Center
Freespace is a pop-up community center focused on hacking the civic experience. It is hosted in a 14,000 sqft warehouse in S0Ma, San Francisco, envisioned and implemented entirely by you.
Freespace was originally just a one month project, but it was extended to two months thanks to successful Indiegogo campaign. They’re now open periodically (check their schedule). They host a wide array of events and projects like classes, music, art, silent discos, yoga, a free bikeshare, community engagement and field trips, and more than a few silly costumes.
Freespace is planning on reopening in October after two months hiatus. They never disappoint with their fun (and free) events.
Here’s what Freespace says about their Sneak Preview Party:
“We’re working on the next [freespace] and we want you to be a part of it.
We are reaching out to a hand-picked group of amazing instigators, creatives, compassionate visionaries and urban hackers to join us this Friday September 20, 2013 from 6-9 pm for a sneak preview, brainstorming session, and social mixer around what WE want to manifest in the next [freespace].”
