Opal Street Dance Improvisation Theater, along with jazz musicians Wrapped in Plastic and artist Francois Luong, are hosting a free Halloween happening at Pioneer Park by Coit Tower on October 31, 2013.
This is a live performance collaboration including dance, poetry, music, and live art at Coit Tower on Halloween with Wrapped in Plastic playing sounds of old and new jazz music.
Coit Tower is a curious structure that has become a favorite San Francisco landmark. It was donated in 1929 by Lillie Hitchcock Coit (an eccentric volunteer firefighter who ran around North Beach in men’s clothing) to beautify the skyline. It celebrated it’s 80th birthday earlier in October 2013.
Muni bus #39 takes you up the formidable hill, or you can hike east up the verdant steps on Greenwich–maybe you’ll see the famous wild parrots along the way.
