Funcheap is throwing our weekly 49ers Food Truck Bacon Brunch (RSVP) at SoMa StrEat Food – Probably the biggest game watch in the city and was recently featured on ABC 7.
But there’s plenty of other fun events – Watch the game in movie theaters in Oakland and in Livermore, Get free pizza at Northstar, grub on free BBQ at Elixir, meet some Gold Rush Cheerleaders at 03 Bistro and tons more.
SoMa StrEat Food Park: Food Truck Bacon Brunch
Funcheap hosts one of the largest game watches in San Francisco – the one that the TV stations set up their cameras at last week to show nearly 1,000 people cheering surrounded food trucks. Because of the 10am start, in addition to the usual bottomless mimosa specials, expect a bacon brunch with 11 food trucks creating special bacon-filled dishes including the Bacon Bacon Truck and Oakland’s Chunky Pig dishing out Candied Bacon Caramel Corn.

Northstar: Bay Area Sports Guy Party & Free Pizza
Indie sports blog Bay Area Sports Guy takes over the tiny dive bar Northstar in North Beach for the website’s 6th Anniversary Party. Site founder Steve Berman loves the 49ers, but may love pizza even more, so he’s ordering up Amici’s Pizza for the bar around halftime. We’re told it’s free if you’re a 49ers fan (while supplies last, of course) so if you’re hungry make sure to hide your Carolina gear.
– Northstar Cafe, 1560 Powell St., SF | Free Admission
The Independent: Concert Venue Pop-Up Sports Bar
Normally a concert venue, The Independent turns into a giant pop-up sports bar with the 49ers vs. Panthers game projected on a 14×10 foot screen in front of the stage. The Indy has a full bar (and a two-drink minimum which we’ve never actually seen enforced). As for food, it’s BYO with plenty of tasty options in the NoPa neighborhood. Little Chihuahua serves up guacamole, burritos and tacos starting at 10am, but have patience if you want Little Star Pizza which doesn’t open until Noon on Sundays.
– Northstar Cafe, 1560 Powell St., SF | Doors 9am | Free Admission
The Chapel: 19-Foot Screen in Former Chapel
Housing one of the largest screens in San Francisco showing the game, The Chapel and its 40-foot arched ceiling was built in 1914 and actually served as a house of worship for many years. Now it’s a house of worship for the Niners. The building was renovated to became a music venue in 2012 and has a large open dance floor and mezzanine upstairs with great views of the game.
– The Chapel, 777 Valencia St., SF | Doors 9am | Free Admission
Elixir: Free Hangover BBQ Brunch
No one ever went to Elixir, one of SF’s oldest bars, for the size of their TVs, so the real star of this party will be the 49er Rum Punch and the complimentary BBQ called their “hangover brunch.” The bartenders have final say if you’ll get to eat the BBQ, so our advice would be to arrive early, cheer for the Niners, order drinks and tip like you’ve worked in a bar before.
– Elixir, 3200 18th St., SF | Free Admission
49ers Gold Rush Cheerleaders Party
Apparently not all of the 49ers cheerleaders get to make the trip to Charlotte for the game, and a few will be hanging out at 03 Lounge for a 2014 Gold Rush Calendar signing from 10am to Noon. And while you’re waiting to check out the cheerleader pom poms, fill up on $1.50 BBQ skewers and keep your eyes glued to the game on an 8-foot projection screen.
– O3 Bistro and Lounge, 524 Van Ness Ave., SF | Doors 9am | Free Admission, RSVP Required
